Dear Parishioners,
We, the people of this parish, are members of this Church Community by chance and by choice; either we live within the boundaries of Our Lady of Refuge Church or we opt to come here each week to worship, to learn and to serve.
More fundamental than chance or choice is grace, which makes us one with Christ and one anotherand with all those who bear the name Christian.
It is by faith that we are savedand by grace. The Psalmist asks, "What return can I make to the Lord for all the good He has done for me?" He then goes on to answer his own question by responding, "I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord."
The Psalmist responds to the goodness of God by doing somethinghe takes the cup, says a blessing and then shares it. Taking the cup and thanking God are what we do each Sunday at Mass.
You are now asked to imitate the Psalmist and go one step further-to sharingespecially your God-given talent and your precious time.
You are here, called by grace and responding by choiceand this is your chance now to go one step further, as a Christian, in service to this parish and Our Lord.
Please accept the grace of this moment of grace.
Sincerely,
Father Perry
