Lenten All Night Eucharistic Adoration at Our Lady of Refuge in Brooklyn
Eucharistic adoration is a time of prayer that we Catholics value as a moment of quiet in the presence of Christ in the blessed sacrament. The mystery of the eucharist endures past the celebration of the mass and it is the divine reality of Christ, body and blood, soul and divinity that is presented in the monstrance for the adoration and contemplation of the believer. (The monstrance is the vessel in which the sacred host is kept and shown for veneration). The reception of holy communion is one way to relate to the eucharist. Another is adoration and it is nothing less than adoration that we involve ourselves in as we pray before the sacrament in the monstrance; adoration, because the host is our God under the appearence of bread.
